About us

One island, built from scratch,
and open to everyone.

VirtualandX is a virtual land registry for Virtualand Isle — a made-up island divided into a fixed grid of ~10×10 ft tiles — about 100,000 of them across ten districts. Every tile can be claimed, held and rented out by anyone with a wallet.

We are not modelling a real place. Virtualand Isle doesn't exist anywhere but here — its coastline, districts and terrain are ours to design, and the terrain itself is still a work in progress. Scarcity is still the point: there is exactly one Virtualand Isle, and once its tiles are held, the only way in is from another holder.

Why one island

Most virtual land projects start by selling the whole planet, which means selling an unlimited supply of nothing in particular. We went the other way. VirtualandX covers one island, in full — and nothing else. Nothing outside its coastline is part of the registry; the map will not even pan past it.

Virtualand Isle is small enough that the entire island fits in a single, honest grid, and its districts are designed to genuinely differ — from the dunes of Dunefall to the high ground of Highrock. The registry prices that difference in rather than pretending it away.

Who we are

VirtualandX is built and operated by CayMedia — the team that designed Virtualand Isle's grid, districts and rate card. The registry runs on our own infrastructure: the map tiles, the grid maths, the ledger and the payments desk are all in-house.

How we think about ownership

Holders from everywhere

Virtualand Isle is owned entirely from off-island, and the registry shows it: the tape at the top of every page shows claims and resales as they land, with the flag of the holder's home country. A tile in Palmreach is as likely to be taken from Singapore or Zürich as from anywhere else.

VirtualandX land is a virtual registry entry and confers no rights over physical property. Market activity shown in the tape and occupancy shown on the map include demonstration data alongside real orders.
